In my country we use coconut oil to our hair and we heat it on a table spoon over a gas cooker/heat/fire and rub it, if we just apply it then we might have brain freeze. To be clinicially effective (stopping hair loss), you need to block AT LEAST 60 percent to be visibly and finasteride blocks around 70-75 percent. So while saw palmetto does block your DHT, there have been many studies throughout the years that prove that it isn't really a good solution. Now nobody's saying you can't use it in addition to your medication, but don't expect it to be the cause of stopping hair loss
